Teaching our children healthy behaviors is one of the most important things that we can do as a parent. There is no question that physical activity benefits a growing child and the earlier they become active, the better. Health related habits (positive or negative) acquired at a young age are more likely to be carried over into adulthood. Regular participation in physical activity has the potential to significantly improve the fitness, health, and well-being of a child. It promotes positive bone growth and development, improves muscular and aerobic fitness, reduces symptoms of depression and anxiety, increases self-esteem, and helps children maintain a healthy body weight.
